Long Hair or Wrong Hair?

The young lady pictured in this photo gave me an exclusive look of here natural hair. She hasn't washed her hair in over a week. She feels that this will make her hair longer. The young lady is an athlete and sweats a lot, due to practice. She usually wears her hair in a bun, but she took the hair out for me. It seems like there are extremely tight curls throughout her hair. They actually give her hair a "dreadlock" effect. I was told that she hadn't combed her hair in a few days. When she finally does comb the tangled hair, I feel that she's going to have a hard time getting it nice and straight. Her hair is very long with the tangled dreadlock effect and when she does finally loosen the curls and straighten her hair, it'll be even longer. For now, I have to give this style a Hair Don't!

Cornrows or Corn-No?

The lady pictured in this photo has cornrow braids in her hair. The she has zig zag cornrows in the front of her head and individual braids in the back of her hair. There were about fifteen cornrow braids altogether. This hairstyle typically takes about 4 hours, due to the time consuming individual braids inthe back. The cornrows have to be braided tight so they can last. This style can usually last for a month, depending on how you take care of it. If you put a scarf on it at night, it'll look fresh for a long time. You can style the hair up in a ponytail, have all the hair down, or put half of the hair up and half down. These cornrows are very neat and well done. I would say this is a Hair Do!

Ponytail or Ponyfail?

This is a photograph of a young lady whose hair is pulled back into a ponytail. She decided to add a braided piece of weave and clipped it to the front of her hair. The braided weave was suppose to be her bang. She has a neat ponytail. Her hair is nice, straight, and long. You can see her sleek babyhair. I just don't understand why she would add that fake bang to the front of her hair. It messed up the whole hairstyle. If you look closely at the picture, you can see the random clip thats holding her weave in place. You can also see some of the braided weave sticking out in the middle of her head. The only good thing about the braided weave is that the color blends in nicely with her hair. This hairstyle is a ponyfail. I have to declare this a Hair Don't!

New Weave on the Block!

I am pictured in this photo wearing a new type of weave. This is called a Lace Front Wig. Lace fronts are wigs that come with a natural hairline. The wigs usually look like real hair is coming from the scalp. The hairline you see in the picture is not mine, but instead the wig's. You can also part about an inch of the hair in the front. The particular lace front I am wearing comes from the company Sensationnel. The name of this wig is called Serena. The hair is black with brown streaks in it. The wig is actually layered very nicely. The back of the hair is very long. This lace front can be styled in many different ways. These wigs typically last for a month and a half. The Serena Lace Front is indeed a Hair Do!

Rainbow Braids

This young lady photographed has micro braids. These type of braids are extremely thin and tight. It typically takes about an 8-10 hours to complete the hairstyle. She has two-tone micro braids. The top portion of her micros is a blondish color, while the rest of her hair is black. This two-tone style works very well together. The micro braids are versatile. The young lady has her hair up in a nice bun, yet you can style the braid in many ways. You could let the micro braids can hang down, have it in a ponytail, or even curl and crimp the hair. Micros usually last for about two months. Many hairstylists charge $150-$200 dollars to do the braids. The young lady's micros are very unique. I would definitely say that this style is a Hair Do!

Lopsided Wig

This photograph displays a young lady with a wig on. Her wig seems to be a little lopsided. The hair is cut in a short style. Short hairstyles are best in the summer, because they are easy to maintain, with less weight on your shoulders. I believe the wig is too small for her head. The color of the wig is a dirty brown. I think that the color matches her complexion perfectly. A lighter brown hair color would also be a great look for her. If she turns the wig around a little and combs it out, I think the style would look better. She could really make this wig work with some tweeks to it. For now, I'd declare this a Hair Don't!
